Default 5,000-6,000 miles a year, street car, sea level all year round.....SD tune????

Should I do a SD tune down here in South East, Florida.

441ci with 250 shot............street car only.

Gonna use a 105mm TB and they only make 100mm MAF's. So I figure why use a MAF if a SD tune will be fine to do.

The majority of all Chrysler cars built today are speed density tuned. This means they have to be emissions-legal in all 50 states and run properly over a wide variety of temperature and altitude. If it's good enough for the OEMs, there should be no reason why you can't have perfect street manners with your speed density-tuned project.

As I said, I'll be in South Florida all the time, car should never leave there.

Just out of curiosity:
If a SD tuned car is in 90*F weather, then in the winter drives into 0*F weather.....does it automatically compensate, or does that pose a problem?

no problem, temp is one of the major components of all SD equations

I've driven in 100* summers and single digits winters with my SD tune for over 2 years now and never had a problem. STFTs barely change, and if they do it's not more than 1 or 2 at the most. Although there is not MAF to see the change in airmass, the IAT sensor still sees intake temperatures and the computer uses that along with the o2 sensors to compensate for any change in temperature. Remember, o2 sensors see a lean/rich situation (due to say a change in temperature or a change in humidity) and add accordingly.

Haven't had to touch up the tune all this time in an area where it gets freezing and hot. You being in South FLA should make it even easier since it will be 70+ all year long. Doubt you'll have many freezing temps there like this:

Well thanks guys....thats what I needed to know. SD tune it is.......

104mm lid and a 105mm TB should do well.......a Mamo FAST 102mm intake will be used until the Marcella gets done. I guess I'll have to have it retuned then.
