2000 SS has
- SLP intake
-ram air hood
-cat back straight pipe
- automatic
107k miles
2003 4.6 Mustang has
- 75 mm Throttle body
- BBK shorties and flowmaster 40's
- Cold air intake
- and the tune that is on it, is the tune from when he had a supercharger with a 4lbs pulley. A lil rich but not too bad.
- 5k miles on a new 4.6 motor [ he blew the old one with his v2 vortch ]

without his SC its no contest.

Yeah me and my buddy haven't raced yet but he is more then positive that he will smoke me... i believe he ran in the high 13's at the drag strip but he won't tell me. His first pass was a 14.2 and the fastest I saw was a 13.8

you'll toast him w/o his blower on it unless one of two things occur.......you cant drive for chit or he is some miraculous driver. i believe neither will occur so youll win, coming from a mustang guy

4.6 mustangs have to be some of the slowest cars ever made in near stock form, even with his mods i just dont see it beeing close, what does he have for gears? its not going to matter just asking. i have had a 4.6 before it took alot to get that thing moving.

You should be able to win pretty easy. My buddy had an 03 with an off road H pipe, cat back, intake, and gears I think. best I could get out of that car was 13.8. My 98 Camaro with full exhaust (mid length headers) and a lid I was going ~13.1-13.3 (couldnt launch it good, never better than a 2.0 60ft).
(both these cars were sticks.)

Not to mention my Camaro was prob trapping close to 7 mph more (~110mph to his ~102mph I think)

Im actually going to go with driver's race, with the slight edge going to the SS.

mustang will win by 4 bus lengths that 4.6 is a monster on a supercharger tune :violin:

I think it depends on traction and the gearing in the mustang.

Your buddy's car was a pig or you're not including the fact the car had no traction off the line. A 13.8 (with a good launch) out of that car with those mods is pathetic. Auto or Manual?

Providing you don't have the horrid Auto gears (can't remember them exactly) you should edge him out. Going to go with it being mostly a drivers race, if you go long enough though even if you botch the launch you will still come around him.

the 60' was prob around a 2.0 and it was a 5 speed. Im guessing as to what the mph was but I cant be sure since it was so long ago.

Maybe your thinking of a Cobra cause a stock 03 GT with, an h pipe, cat back, cold air intake, and some 3:73's is a pig.

As I recall those GT's were a decent race for an LT1, not an Ls1.

If you're gearing let's your car downshift into first gear from a 30mph roll you should be good. If it hangs itself in 2nd gear, you will get your ass handed to you off the bat and won't have time to catch up.

I suggest you make sure you know what your car is going to do before hand otherwise you will give him an ego.

soo who won??? i think the camaro should of won use to be a ford guy and ls1's slighly modded would crush them 2v gt's modded now if he was saying a new 5.0 gt there would be nooooo way haha.. def from reading this was a drivers race...

I raced the mustang from a 40mph roll. I pulled on him but not by much probably half a car by the time i hit 90mph. Same results every race except one time we did a 15 roll and I walked the dog on the mustang after about 60mph he just gave up

A ~40-45 roll with stock stall and stock gears is one of the worst races you can ever run. The next contender being a 70+ roll that won't kick from 4th to 2nd.

Bread and butter for an automatic is something that gets a good chunk of 1st gear. Once you get a stall a 50-55mph roll should be fairly aggressive too. That being said, save up for a 3600 converter, shift kit, and cooler. You will have an entirely different car.
