ls2 243 heads and 799's are identical I believe. Now z06 243's have a 5-15 hp gain over 799's & ls2 243's. But they are quite a bit more usually like 100-200 more. Not worth the cost of the ls6 ones unless their a good deal

243's are 243's. If I recall correctly, the 799 is identical to the 243, except it's a sand casting, meaning the casting surfaces may be rougher. The 243 is die-cast.

The only difference in the z06 heads is the hollow sodium filled valves.

This is the correct information.

The ls6 heads have sodium filled valves which are lightweight. They only come on ls6 engines.

Other than the valves the heads are identical and there is no difference in power. Even comparing 799 to 243 is like comparing 853 to 241 ls1 heads...the power difference is neglible (under 5hp at best, likely not even that much according to a whole slew of sponsors here who have done extensive dyno tests).

And how do you identify the sodium valves?

By pictures they are almost impossible to identify because they look the exact same. If you set a ls6 valve and a regular valve on a table you will see the ls6 valve is a tad longer and the weight difference between the two can definitely be felt by holding them in your hand.

FYI, the ZO6 243's have hollow intake valves and sodium filled exhaust valves.

The intake valves are awesome because they are super light (less than 80g each) but are getting harder to find. The exhaust valves, however, are notorious for popping the heads off of them.
