Default Bolt-on C6 Z06 vs. World Record (9.97@137mph)

Thought I would add a little nut-swinging to GM's side after being bored to death by noisy rice rockets, Ohio's 5.0/Shelby nutswinging and Raw-Wheel horsepower Vipers.

Breakdown of pass.
60'.......1.366
330'.....4.119
660'.....6.378
MPH....109.17
1000'....8.331
1/4......9.973
MPH....137.72

Will add the slip.

This pass was made on a Saturday T&T day. Weather was beautiful and the air was of very good quality. There are a few pics which will get posted. Time of pass was 3:43 and not 4:43 since the clock was never changed back to EST. Temperature was in the mid 50's. Everything came together on the very last pass of the day, more correctly, the last car down the track.

The Bolt-On Only mods (No internal engine modifications) are:
RPS LSX BC2 Clutch
Vette-Air
Halltech Super Bee MF103 and Beehive
1 7/8" American Racing Headers
Ported TB & FAST LSXR 102 Manifold ported by Carlos Allen
EWP
4.10 gears

Makes me reconsider getting a used ZR1 vs. a used Z06. How much HP does the new Shelby GT500 have again?

I believe it was 10.2's

Now if only GM didn't handicap the 5th gen camaro/tank...

Not sure. No track in Mexico yet. It is a LP 570 and I'm not sure I want to launch the **** out of it with no track. I've already inquired about a clutch replacement and it's got a ridiculous Lambo tax. So I don't think I'll be launching it anytime soon.

I do want a ferrari some day. maybe a 458 or if the 458 scuderia is ever made, I'd like to get one of those.

If you don't mind me asking, and you are always welcome to PM it, but dear God, what do you do for a living?

Not surprised that Gary set the record. Those east coast guys including Robz and their rat pack are about as good as it gets in setting records in these cars. Great driving, lots of practice, track rentals, and great air. Big props to them.

Not my ride...I wish!!! It's some dude's over on the east coast. Just thought I would add to the fanboism since it hasn't been posted yet and everyone here's a magazine racer.

Gotta love the tech, now every C6 Z06 with bolt-ons will be 9 second rides(just like every new 5.0 is a 12 second rides)

I'm waiting for Killemall to bow down and change his stats for the C6Z accordingly. Let's see a bolt-on Viper trap 137mph

i think you all would be surprised what most "stock" motors are capable of in the right hands.

i can easily see a bolt-on viper matching, if not surpassing that trap speed. i bolded and underlined the important portion of my statement, just for emphasis.

this doesn't seem like anything crazy. that car in his hands prob trapped 127-128 when it was stock. add full bolt-ons, weight reduction, some driveline weight loss, and a spot on tune; now the car is seeing +10 mph over stock. stock ls1s did that with much less motor and poor aerodynamics when compared to a zo6. granted, it takes more power at those speeds to generate the same gain, but the car has a huge, very efficient engine and obviously the body lines of a goddess.

The best track in the world does it again. Great time. Wonder what happened to the Bacardi lane. It used to be the fastest.

Probably in the negatives. Usually on a 40* night its right around 0 and below that, definitely in the negatives. I ran on a 38* night and the DA was -800.

he has rear coilovers, but he has said he has cut 1.36 60' on stock suspension tho. he never answered back to people asking about raceweight on corvetteforum.

LOL, not to burst your bubble dude but that just means somebody went out there to purposely race their C6 Z. I guarantee you if somebody raced their Viper at the strip like that dude raced his C6 Z, it would probably match or best it.

Remember the new Vipers go toe to toe with the ZR1 stock for stock.

Not to mention track selection. The track that Z06 raced at is where people do record 1/4 times due to the DA.

No doubt the car is really fast, bolt-ons and in the 9s is very impressive, but i do have to wonder what it weighs.

As for Atco, that's the place to set record ETs.

EDIT: Just looked it up and the DA during this pass was -1400.
