All with a little 6 rib belt.

We had some tuning issues with the car tonight since the MAF is right after the bend on the elbow off the inlet pipe. This caused a lot of part throttle issues, most of which are worked out. Made about 10-11 passes on the dyno tonight. Couldn't wire up the wideband to the headers or mid pipe on my exhaust since the bungs are welded, so had to use the tailpipe for now. That will be fixed within the next week or so.

Started out with about 13* of timing and a 9.3AFR and worked up. We tried pulling the air filter off and gained a little power, but it then threw the tune way off for part throttle driving with the MAF issue. We stuck it back on and made 3 more passes. Final numbers were with 16* of timing, pump 93 octane, and the meth bumped from 2.5 to 3. Numbers are 774/738. Very happy with the numbers with the meth turned down and still a MAF tune. I'm sure adding a little more timing and cranking the boost up could have got us right around 800rwhp. I don't have boost numbers on the car since the dyno is new and Wally is still hooking that up, but I would guess 13-14psi. Will be back on the dyno with the bottle hooked up soon. Hoping to make 900/900 on pump gas.

Big thanks to Wally for staying up till 6am on the dyno with me trying to get the car to the Mile. Auto Andrenaline Performance is top notch and they have a good knowledge of racing cars and tuning them. Also, thanks to Bill for the all the labor and long hours on the car. Had a blast and learned a ton from you. :yesnod:

BTW, these numbers are with a standard 6 rib belt and a Novi 1500.

Very very nice Congrats I really like the tq numbers too.
Just curious why did you change the YSI to Novi 1500?

900rwhp shouldnt be a problem with more boost/tune/meth and SD tune.
Keep posted.

Thank you. I switched blowers because I had originally planned on parting the car out. After the blower was sold, I had second thoughts and my friend had the ECS 1500 kit for sale.

This blower is the same as a t-trim. It is completely maxed out and being overspun by about 6000rpm's now. It has nothing left in it, just maybe 15-20 in the tune with another point of timing and leaning it out a tad. I'm curious to see what an SD tune will do to it.

Yeah I remember reading a thread at corvetteforum about you selling the car.
Well no need for more boost 150shot will be enough

My bad I meant 900rwhp with YSI.
Does the Novi 2000 or 2200 blowers fit the bracket you have?

The Novi 2000 does and so does the 2200. I can probably sell this blower for about $1000, and pick up a Novi 2000 for $2200-2400. So about $1200 for the upgrade. The interesting thing is, both the Novi 1500 and 2000 are rated at 55000rpm. However, I've done a lot of talking with Paxton(aka Vortech), and also ECS. A lot of guys are spinning the Novi 2000's to around 65000rpm's with no problems. I'm kind of leaning that way, but not sure if it is worth it. The Novi 2200 is rated at 1450cfm, just 50cfm more than the Novi1500 and Novi2000 blowers. It is also more expensive than the YSI, and the YSI fits right on my bracket for $3400.

I'll just see how the car does. I think this blower and a 125-150 shot should put me at around 900rwhp/900rwtq. I think that is plenty for a C6 that doesn't have a wide booty out back. I'm running 295/45-17 MT's out back, which work a little better than my previous 305-18 and 275-40 MT's. With the compression of the motor, the blower, and spray, I think 900/900 is about the limit of usefullness on this car. Anything more with nitrous and boost, I think I would need a boost by gear. I've seen my friends make 1000+hp on twin setups, but they seem to react much better than the blower cars at that level and put the power down better. Then again, they have 345's out back, which I can't fit.

I'm kind of leaning towards a Novi 2000 upgrade to make low 800's, and then just a 100 wet shot that is already installed but not tuned on the car.

Let me know on your opinions on this. Thanks

I totally agree Novi 2000 will get you 800-850rwhp and with 100shot that will be a crazy setup for 50-160mph runs or 1/4 and not that expensive if you sell the 1500.
From 2nd on blower only for traction then 100shot in 3rd-4th gears

2200 is not worth it for sure for the price. if your not planning to spray the car then save for another YSI.

Just saw a video of the pulls with Cops behind LOL get some incar runs next time

2000CFM. I need more motor! Thing probably takes 100hp just to turn it!

Thanks. Crank is a stock 7.5, and blower pulley is a 3.125. Setup ratio is 3.62 on the head unit. Probably making 13-14psi.

Thanks!

What heads do you have? What is your compression? I have worked LS3 heads on my car, with low 10's on compression. I think the standard LS3 heads are good to 1000hp. My cam is a 232/244 comp xer on a 118 lobe. It seems like the t-trim/novi 1500 is good to about 800rwhp, so I think my numbers are right around where they should be.

First pass hot off the street with no cool down. Short shifted the 3-4 shift by 500rpm.

Race weight was 3565 and full street trim on 93 pump gas. It's been a long time since I went to the track, so a little more seat time and I should have the car running another .2faster. Limiting factor will be the Stock C6(non z06/zr1) differential, stock transmission, stock suspension.

Thank you Larry! Hope to see you soon at the track and we can set some records. Just looked, and I'm the 3rd fastest M6(non Z06/ZR1) car on the fast list! Might be looking at a rearend in the future to help strengthen the rear end and let me launch in the low-mid 1.5 area without fear of breaking.

Congratulations on 3rd fastest!

Get a 4:10 (or so) gear and you will see 9s for sure. With your hugh mph you have a lot more 60' left in your car.

Bumping an old thread, but is there a LS1 specific bracket for the Novi 1500? I found a used Novi 1500 blower, but am unsure what all it takes to make it work on a 2002 WS6.
