Me and some buddies were talking about the biggest big block and I remembered Pat Musi had a 913 cu in motor and my buddies were doubting me. Well I got on google and we were all wrong. Sonny Leonard has just made a 1000 cu inch engine. I couldn't believe it when I saw it online. It only cost 117,000 grand LOL!

Sonny makes some real awesome mountain motors. You get 2000+hp without filling the bottle or the lag of the turbo.I would not mind installing this engine in my car , i would definitely need a plasma cutter for sure to make it fit.

Lol, did you see the 1.095in keyed lifters and the 75mm cam? Now that is a mountain motor! Who wants to see if it'll fit in a Vega?....lol
Both Sonny Leonard and Pat Musi make some pretty awe inspiring engines.

The 1005" is nice to look at and think about running, but you guys didn't think of maintenance!!
About every 40 pass' it costs $10,000!!!!!!!!!
I know guys with 932" and 892" that race in my series,
and when you spend that kind of money, you don't push your luck.

For that price of $117K....its kind of a pathetic engine.....
You can have more power and torque at less than HALF THE PRICE with an NRE 454 sbc or LSX based TT engine......2,300 HP. And no rebuilds all the damn time.
But it would be WAY WAY cool to stuff that thing in an F-Body............hell yea....

If your engine makes 2300hp with or without a poweradder ,it will need to be
freshened up on a regular basis. racing high horsepower is expensive , look at top fuel they tear down the engine after every pass.

I understand that 1000ci needs allot of attention.....but according to NRE their 454ci LSX iron blocked TT (2,300 HP) can go 4 full race seasons without being touched............thats pretty kickass. Imagine how long it would last in a street car..........probably 6-7 years without needing anything.

One can only wonder how deep an exhaust tone those huge cylinders make.
I'd love to hear it idle thru a parking lot, pull out onto the street and go down the block.
You wouldn't have to hit it very hard as it would be tough to hook that much up on street tires.
I read that one sold to a guy on Vashon Island, outside Seattle. Wonder it it's on the street around there.
It must be nice to be able to afford such toys.

1st, you can never compare a power adder combo to N/A, because they are not even the same animal!!
Of course a power adder is much much cheaper to get equal or even more power.
Especially a max effort type deal where you can more then double the base HP.
2nd, the maintenance required is more from the huge dimensions, weights then the actual HP.
You try swinging those big ass rods, pistons with a 6" stroke and you'll understand??
3rd, as I always say, until you can do better, you have no business ripping someone because they have something better then you!!
OK, the last I heard was one is going in after the holidays and heading to the track in Feb.
I for one can't wait, and could care less that smaller, cheaper engines will kick it's ass!!
It's frigging N/A, and if anyone doesn't grasp how amazing this piece is,
I'd love to see you make 2000 HP plus on nuts!!
