Default EFI Connection 24X

I am thinking about doing this to my 97 Camaro. I live in GA and we have emissions here. All OBD2 cars are scanned for codes and sometimes the VIN is pulled as part of the emission test. My question is, can my 97 VIN# be stored in the LS1 PCM so that the emission test machine will see the correct VIN# for my car? I already know there is no way to make the EGR valve work. That is OK. No tail pipe test, just OBD2 test, fuel cap test, and a visual inspection for catalytic converters. OBD2 test= no codes and all I/M status' set to yes=passed emission test.

I called the Georgia tag people about this a year or 2 ago. They said vin# mismatch is no problem. People swap computers all the time for service reasons is what they told me. I believe when you take it in they HAVE to check the on car VIN anyways.

Your 97 VIN will go in the LS1B PCM. I have had my 98 truck VIN in the LS1 PCM for several years. Passes emission testing every time.
