Default questing on cam and nitrous ?

hey guys i just installed a single fogger wet nitrous kit on my car 99 t/a mods are in sig + ss3600 stall and freshly rebuild trans. now im looking to get in to a cam. BUT im not going to be using this motor for long. im planning to build a 370ci lq9 with forged internals. im looking to spray on the 346 a 150 and on the lq9 a 300. i have the NOS big shot kit good for up to 300+ hit.

now i was thinkin about getting a nice size cam for nitrous to put on the 346 and that i can swap out to the 370 ci when i was ready.

in mind for the 370 ci forged pistons and rods. not sure on brands yet. im trying to leave the stock crank should hold up to 900hp if im not mistaken. im on a buget. im getting parts *** i go along. id like to also go with th400 trans brake rever valve body. building this may take me a year, year and a half. i want to go with the victor jr efi manifold. dual plate fogger 150 and 150. i will be doing the roll cage subframe connectors safty loop on the car early next year. stock suspension except for wats listed on sig looking in to going back to stock springs.

whats intreaging for me is choosing the cam on this. i like choppy idle my brother went with 228/228 588/588 112 lsa and i love it i think he should have gone bigger. i know bigger is not always better with a cam thats why im here. the car will be my dd till the new motor is done. after will be weekend and strip car only. would like toi know u guys honest oppinions, sujestions, ect.

thanks in advanced...

Ms3 loves the juice!

Also, use NGK BR7Ef plugs for that 150 shot.

i agree have pat g do your cam, the ms3,4 are proven cams in the right setup but there old school, there is so much better cams out there, you wanna get a cam made for the mods you all ready have done, gears, stall etc. listen call a few sponsers, you will get the best info from them , not saying tech doesnt have good advice but you will get more usable info talking with eps,tsp or another great sponser.

ok, just wanted to get some advice now. to know more or less what i was going to do. i will be spraying the motor as it is right now for a few months. untill i get the roll cage connectors and safty loop in. then ill think about the cam. so my final gole it the 370ci. when i speek to the sponsor what would i tell him im building? i know all or most parts will swap from one motor to another. will it work well on both?
will the cam suggested for the 370ci work well on the 346?

Sorry for the late reply (was busy tuning all weekend). If nitrous performance is more important than NA performance, you need the cam to be more biased to open the exhaust valve earlier. A 370 with stock heads is going to want more overlap than an LS1. The single plane intake is going to want an earlier intake valve open/close and a later exhaust valve open/close. I would be looking at a 234/236 110LSA +2 cam for all motor, but a 300 shot is going to to want the exhaust valve to open 9-10 degrees earlier while keeping the IVO/IVC, EVC and overlap the same as what works best on motor. The resulting nitrous cam would be 234/246 112LSA +4. If you do the math, you'll see that it has the same valve events as the 234/236 110 +2 cam except the exhaust valve opens 9 degrees earlier. This is critical on nitrous because it burns so much faster, you need to open the exhaust valve much earlier to reduce pumping losses. You'll also be retarding your ignition timing 10-12 degrees so all this helps.
