Exclamation 2 grand RPM at 60MPH?

I have a 98 trans am a4 with a shift kit, longtubes, slp lid, new spark plugs and wires and stock gears. When im going 60mph my rpm is at 2000RPM and a buddy of mines has a 99 ss with the same mods but he has 373 gears and gets the same at 60mph and at 70mph. At 70mph im at 2500RPM.

So my question is, is this normal for my car and is it possible I might have gears done to my car?

not really. with an a4 you can cruise at 60 at a wide variety of rpm.

2k at 60mph indicates 3.73s are highly likely. Either that or your converter isn't locking on the hwy.

jack up the rear spin one a complete revolution and count the number of times the driveshaft turns 3 3/4 turns =3.73. any less and you might have torque converter issues

Yeah if you change the gears and generate a new list you can see what it would be with different gears, 3.73 gave me 2400rpm @ 70mph and 2000rpm @ 60mph. Pretty safe bet that's what you have.
