So, I'm just trying to figure out exactly which calipers came on the CTS-V's 05-current model? I'm under the impression that newer 6-piston brembo were the only change on the brake calipers for the newest V's, and the rear calipers are all the same. Is this correct?

Well the rotors on the front are larger as well, but all else (caliper/rotors) are the same.

Perfect my main concern was the rear brakes. Thanks :)

Someone posted over on CF.com that the rear calipers are not the same part number for the '04-07 and '09+ Vs. As far as I know, it's the same rotor diameter, and the same caliper body/shape (so uses the same pads).

OEMs sometimes put new part numbers on things for reasons that don't really matter, so that's possible in this case. However, there could be some changes that really do matter. Maybe the different part number means the '09+ calipers use different piston sizes than the '04-07s? Or maybe the '09+ rear calipers use bigger mounting bolts (to match the 14mm bolts the '09+ front calipers use)? Or maybe the mounting bolt spacing has changed?

I picked up a pair of yellow V2 rear calipers today to compare to my V1 rear calipers. As far as I can tell, other than the color, they are identical. The only thing I'm not positive on is the piston diameters because the pistons were fully retracted on the new V2 calipers, thus I couldn't get a measurement. Just eyeballing it, though, they looked the same to me.

I have one side installed already, and will get to the other side once there's not an LS6 on an engine stand in the way!

I'm pretty sure the V2 rear calipers are slightly larger the V1. That would make me think the caliper mounts are slightly longer.

As I said, I have a V2 rear caliper already installed on my V1. The V2 rear rotors are the same size as the V1 rear rotors as far as diameter and thickness. What I wasn't sure of was whether the hat offset was the same; apparently, it is.

If they are identical, why are you changing them? Buy a can of spray paint, put the $400+ you save into new bra and panties for yourself

None of the aftermarket caliper paints last as well as the OEM stuff, and I'd like them to match the front calipers. And I make my bras and panties out of duct tape, so no need for new stuff in that department.

It better be black duct tape.
