Default 383 rear mount questions

i am going to be building my own rear mount turbo system in the next couple of weeks and i need to know a few questions.

My car is setup of boost with a low compression built 383 with turbo cam and a supporting fuel system. also doing stock manifolds and wrapping the exhaust. see sig below.

i would like someone to help me answer the questions below:

what size piping to use, hot and cold sides (being a 383 motor)? need to know if the sizes should change from turbo to IC and IC to motor, or all the same size?

what is the best piping to use for the cold side and where to pick it up for cheap?

Turbo size. i was thinking 76mm? is this too small or just enough?

thanks guys!

What are your goal?

You can run 2" or 2.5" with rear mounts the concept is smaller pipe works better for pressurizing the hot side to spool the turbo. Im running 2.5" cold side got half of my piping on ebay make sure its beaded. Not sure about changing sizes on the cold side. 76mm maybe a little small depending on hp and rpm your shooting for, but may be fine depending on goals. I think it was fireball that had good info with remote mount and hot pipe size tests. You may find it in a search. good luck

im going for about 20Lbs and 700ish HP for street and strip.

the car will be full weight and AC. i go to the strip about once a month if i can.

so having about 2 1/2" hot pipe will help spool the turbo, is that small of pipe needed with it being a 383?

i have seen some people running larger piping from just the intercooler to the motor for some reason though???

if you ran a set of twin rear mount turbos on a 383 build ls1 with say higher comp like round 10-10.5:1 comp and say e85 would 1-7/8 headers still be ok to use with 3"outlet pipes? and modify to bolt the turbo's up to it.

just trying to work out for later down the track if i go this way as rear mount would be an option for cleaner engine bay look.

You probably wont need 20lbs to make 700 rwhp. If you can make it with 14.7 lbs or less then you can use a 2-bar OS that has a higher table resolution, and you wont have as many issues with pushing water / lifting the heads. The precision 7675 would do it easily.
