Made some runs a couple of weeks ago in the 1/8th mile. Car has a stock bottom end (no rod bolts or flycutting) with an MS3, PRC 5.3 heads, and a 92mm FAST. The car weighs in at 3000 pounds plus has a 10pt cage with the start of a funny car cage. Still has interior panels, carpet, dash, etc.

Thanks, I need to get to a 1/4 mile track. It went a 1.39 60' off of the footbrake and a 1.37 60' with the two-step set at 4000. I'm moving it up to 4400 and trying it out this weekend. The 275 Hoosiers are working out very well.

I agree, these radials weigh 11 pounds less (each) than my 295/55 MT Radial. I lost 22 pounds on tires that I needed to buy anyways.

Thanks! 6" on IRS is very impressive an I bet one hell of a ride. I just got a NOS laucher progressive an I'm in the process of making a aluminum fuel cell that goes in the stock location. Hopefully after I get my fuel system plumbed I will start hitting it with some juice. These tires are the DOT radial not the QTP. Here's a link to the tires I'm running.

Got one pass in today due to the motor moving and ripping the bellow off of the airlid. Furthermore, I forgot to move my rev limiter up from 6600 and it hit the rev limiter before the finish. The car is now coming apart for the motor plate an other stuff. Went 10.31@127.9 so I'm thinking 20's shouldn't be a problem once its not running open throttle body and the motor is situated.

I've been debating doing the same heads and the MS3 on a 111LSA or a Tsunami on a 111Lsa Carbed LQ9 (Vic JR) on a 2980 lb G-Body with a powerglide. Would like to see the 10.60-10.20 Range. What trans are you running and what rear gear??

Rossler TH350 with a 2.75 first gear and a 4.10 rear gear. Your goal seems very possible especially if you have suspension.

Best Ive had the car 60' is a 1.45. Averages a 1.49-1.55 depending on track prep of course.
That was on the current 406 SBC, Glide, 9inch w/ 4.56's and 4000stall

60' may need to get a little bit better but it's not far off. What's it have for suspension?

02-02-2012, 05:39 AM
stock Gbody design rear suspension with 90/10 front shocks, control rod in the rear to adjust front end lift when coming off the trans brake. Current best is a 11.53 @ 114mph

I'm so close that I can taste it!! I know it has a 9 second pass in it especially since it will be 100 pounds lighter and hopefully 60' in the 1.20's.

Could you PM what you did to get the car so light? I have a 2002 Camaro Z28 that weighs 3540lbs race weight. My best time so far has been a 10.39@129mph with a 1.41 60ft. I also have a th350 with a 4.11 rear gear. I just installed the antiroll in the rear so I am waiting on a test and tune night to finish setting up my suspension.. BTW my setup is a 402ci LS2, th350 tranny with a PTC 5000 stall that actually stalls to around 4600rpm, full suspension, Strange 12bolt.. Still have A/C, heat, full interior radio, speakers, etc. If I could get down to 3000lbs that would be some 9.70's -9.80's right there.. Thanks man..

I'm going to refer you to my build thread because that's a lot to type. I answered a couple of these similar questions in this thread and you will be able to see my total setup. Just remember that any post after the videos on the thread is additional weight that's being taken out but those are some good ideas. Sounds like you could use some weight reduction but a full weight car in the low 10's is no joke. How much power are you making? I plan on going 9.9 something next time out while still having lightweight carpet, full dash, door panels, rear interior panels, and a headliner. The car doesn't look as light as it is because the interior still looks in tact and that's how I will always have the car.

I am not sure how much power the car is making. It's a stalled auto that weighs in at 3540lbs with no power adders.. Ima update this after this weekend to see where she's at since I added the Antiroll and a set of 28" tall slicks instead of 27.5" DR's.

Thanks, I have a Mustang also that's getting a turbocharged 5.3. I could go faster on my Camaro's setup if I felt like cutting into it more but I want to keep it nice for some real heads up classes. However, my Mustang strictly going to be a "how fast can I go with a 5.3" setup. Good luck with your ride!
