Default Crank snout too beig for balancer? Help

Got the motor put back together and was putting the balancer on and it won't go. so we honed the inside and it almost made it but we took it back off and noticed a scrape on the inside of the balancer. My ?? is the 6 litre crank have a bigger snout than the stocker? I don't even know if its a 6L crank but i don't have anyother explanation as too how the snout could have gotten bigger.

Any help will be appreciated.
TIA MIKE

I'm betting that the location of the drive belt is different.. never seem where the size of the snout was differenct.
