Not too much, I had some P to V clearance issues with 10.5:1 compression heads....

I talked to Jayson @ MTI personally about this. He told me they are installing this cam in cars with their Stg 2 head milled .030 and no clearance issues. As long as you have good spring pressure, .030 will be perfectly safe.

I highly doubt there will be enough PTV. That cam is extreeeemly close with out milling, now you take 30 thou off?

If what Jayson@MTI says is true than .030 milled sounds good to me. But what do you mean by good spring pressure? Will the manley springs that come in the MTI valvetrain package be sufficient with the X1 cam? And are you absolutely sure u can mill the stock heads .030 with the X1? No flames intended, just information needed.

mti told me the same... they run it on .030 heads. It scares me a little though.. 230 degrees 108 intake centerline, and 59x lift.. sounds like a crunch waiting to happen. Thunder ran their 230 cam with less left, 111 icl, and a head with .015 miled, and got .085 intake p to v clearnace. (I know it's a different lobe, but just using it as a fairly close example) Mti never said they measuerd their clearance, just said that it works... if it wasn't such a pain, it would be nice to measure the p to v clearance on the assembled heads, then have them milled as much as the measuerement would allow.

I am running the Stage 2 Ls6 heads and X1 cam from MTI. The heads are milled .030. I have no clearance issues. It is tight but no problems. the springs do have to be up to snuff though. I had an independant shop look at the heads when I got them and they were supprised how much spring pressure there was.

If Jayson says it'll work...trust me, it'll work.
