2012 V6 stang takes down a new R/T charger MMOB driving around trying to find a grocery store and this murdered out R/T charger catches up to me: two guys in it doing the ganster lean with there 22"+ bling bling rims blinding my eyes. Had a catback exhaust from the sounds of it- I heard it while it was still out of sight behind me. Get to a red light with side by side and he looks at my fender and laughs (no GT or 5.0 badges). I smile to myself as he doesn't even bother looking at me.
At the green he takes off normal so I wait until about 20mph then give it WOT, with a bit of tire spin as I shoot out ahead of him. He catches up and both of them have smirks on there faces: I hear him downshifting (I would swear he had a stick shift but I thought they didn't put them in R/Ts?) light 100yrds ahead is red so no time to honk: I punch it and the downshift lag is more then enough to let him get half car on me. A half car I take back before having to brake for the light (30-70mph run I would guess).
At the green I make a mistake and try to take off from 2nd gear instead of 1st cuz I thought the shifter was all the way down (manually shifting). His bling boat gets a car+ on me before I remedy the situation and start the reeling in. Top of 2nd gear we are door to door were we hold for a very long second while the nanny approved transmission finally gets solidly into 3rd gear and i start my pull. Let up with 2 cars on him somewhere around 90mph and coast down to the 50mph speed limit.
He has to turn however, and pulls into a residential turnout just as he gets even with me. Was tempted to follow him and gloat... lol
Funny enough, after shopping and on the way back I see his car pull out of the same residential street right in front of me! Excited about a rematch I fly up next to it with my window down, only to be stared down by a 50+ yr old blonde who was driving the car now. hahahhaha I was so tempted to tell her I just raced her son a few minutes ago!

its almost becoming a competition... to see what the slowest car is that will still beat a Charger RT. A few weeks back my buddy in his bolt on gto was cruising along and some badass came along in an auto challenger rt. My friend went from 6th to 5th and the challenger gave us the look and took off (cruising at 65mph). My buddy floors it in 5th gear and we are literally pacing him, hes maybe inching away from us. All you can is his car reving through the gears. It was hilarious. He then kicked it down into 4th gear and blew by him. Its incredible that the RT series of cars is just so ungodly slow. You read the advertisement and you might think they are atleast peppy. But not in the least.

The R/T was using the autostick if you heard him downshifting.
I don't know the hp on those mustangs. But when I had my R/T I ran many 99-03 gts even a 01 cobra. I smoked them by 2-3 cars.
Using the autostick. On "drive" they suck.
Even a guy with an on 08 gt told me he doesn't race hemis!
Good kill. But I guess those v6s are kinda fast this days.
I don't know the hp on those mustangs. But when I had my R/T I ran many 99-03 gts even a 01 cobra. I smoked them by 2-3 cars.

If i'm not mistaken... the 08 Mustang GT is about as similar to the 2011 3.7L V6 Mustang. 5hp difference? Curb weight ~ same.
I've run a RT in my old V6 CTS, and held it off for quite some time before it started slowly inching towards me, and I laughed at that because I expected it to smoke past me.

If it was indeed a NEW rt (370hp) and NOT the old (34xhp) then id say you have the fastest stock V6 stang ever being that the NEW 5.7's are SOLID 13sec cars.
U would be amazed at how many ppl throw RT badges in V6 chargers. Then u say what about the exhaust?? I have several friends with V6's that throw a deep toned cat back on there and under idle and part throttle it can fool ya. Only after going WOT does it become obvious.
If it was a new rt, it should still have beat you with 22's and a passenger. Maybe not smoke you but def not get two cars ahead and get REELED in.
As always tho. Anything can happen in a street race.

I still swear he had a manual trans in it though: the very audible downshifts replete with noticeable throttle blips are hard to mistake.
Thanks for all the complements fellas, I've been enjoying beating the hell out of this mustang for a week now! Just a hour ago I was cruising with the early morning LA traffic (80mph steady, with the fast guys going 90+) and felt like I could have had another half dozen races if all 6 lanes weren't full. Every 350z/'10 v6 camero/ v6 300/ mazda/nissan/honda/etc with a fartpipe seemed to make it a point to stare at me and punch it. I could get in trouble if I lived here with my GTO.....
