Default Installed poly trans mount... now loud shifter rattling?

Installed a Energy suspension tranny mount along with a BMR torque arm and now I'm getting a loud obnoxious rattle coming from the shifter / shifter linkage in the center console.

Is this a common problem, or is something wrong? If it's not wrong, is there a way to remedy the rattle and keep using the poly mount?

Agreed, get rid of the poly trans mount and go back to the stock one. Best thing ive done to my car yet was taking the poly trans mount off for a stock one

I installed this one:

and I cant tell any difference between this one and the stock one. No rattles or anything.

I'm using one because I already had it and its fine but Energy Suspension told me not to use it. If you're having issues take it off!

I filled all cavities in both stock moter mounts and stock trans mount with rubber silicone and I beleave this helped stablize movement

Did you put that preload plate in that they give you with the mount? I noticed more vibrations with that in. I took it out and it wasn't bad at all anymore and haven't broke one in years compared to the stocker twice a year.

Yeah I originally had the plate installed, the rattle was horrible, then I removed the plate and the rattle was still very prominent. I have my center console taken apart too so I can see where it's coming from, it's a plastic piece that pivots on the bottom of the shifter and is plastic-on-metal. Since it needs to be able to move there really isn't anything I can do to silence it.... Bummer.

Mine did the same thing, the shifter came loose. Tightened it up and no problems since.

What kind of rubber mount is this that you speak of for $10, and where can I find one? The only one I seem to be able to find at NAPA is $94, or $71 at Advance & O'Reilly's shown here http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/se...aro&vi=1303524.

I just got mine from the NAPA warehouse down the road from me... brand new OE style rubber mount, it was $10 with tax.

Box says "Napa mounts" - Part number 620-1261

No problem Looking at the mount I just bought the quality is great too. Can't go wrong for 10 bucks. Hell, even if I end up tearing it to pieces next summer it takes 10 minutes to change and costs next to nothing lol.

I hear stories of guys tearing through trans mounts like paper.. is this mostly on high powered manual trans cars or the autos too? I've never had a problem with any of my camaros so far, but I haven't really gotten to beat the **** out of this one yet.
