What exactly gives them the weight they have.... Keep passing by one in the apartment complex and has got my curiosity going....

IRS setup. + quality built interior. Better then any C6 or camaro I have been in

Also, IIRC the body is all steel besides the front & rear bumpers.

Tow bar under the rear and the big steel cage protecting the gas tank behind the rear seats. They are only about 300lbs heavier than a loaded ws6. My 6speed ram air weighed just under 3500 and my wife's auto gto was right under 3800
