Yup, been going on since metal prices have risen so sharply. I was at a friend's muffler shop and a city truck was in because of this, except the dumb asses cut off a resonator instead of a cat. Where I work had the copper stolen from their AC units 4 times in 6 months.

At my old job people were cutting those off company trucks. It started becoming like roulette because it happened almost every week with different trucks.

Lol, its kinda hard to steal cats if you think about it... Gotta get under there and cut or use a saw-zaw and if you have never used one on exhaust pipe its actually VERY loud.

Unless they just unbolted them... then IDK

They could have used one of those chain type pipe cutters. It doesn't take long at all with one of those, about the same time as a sawzall, maybe faster if I remember right.

a pipe cutter will take them off fairly quick and it doesn't make a whole lot of noise... i see cars coming into my work pretty often that have had the cats cut off... i have never seen them unbolted, that would take far more time and effort... they usually hit cars that are higher off the ground so it's easier to get to... ******** go through all that trouble for a small amount of platinum... if i ever catch someone doing that i have a little bit of lead for them... and for the record dallas HAS been bad for a long time, it's not "getting" bad

HAHA, I just sold my old one last week for $10. Not $100. Hell, it was only $100 for a new one.
