Default Heads/Cam Decision, Torquer V3, PRC 5.3 or LS6?

So I had some oiling problems at high rpm and now am due for a rebuild. So my previous setup was a Streetsweeper cam, 236/240, 610, 612 on 111. I really liked this cam but with my stock gear, it was hard to drive at low rpms.

I am looking for a heads/cam package that will make some good power, 430 or more rwhp and have powerband that is great on the street.

I was thinking the Torquer V3 and PRC 5.3 heads or LS6 heads, let me know what you guys think? If you would reccomend a different heads/cam package, tell what it is and why. I am trying to keep this on a budget of around $2000 for heads/cam springs and pushrods.

I am not familar with the V3 cam specs but if you are trying to maximize low to mid range torque you are on the right track. Either of the PRC heads are a good choice and should give you the HP you are looking for.

I went with this H/C package for the price as well, with the 2.5 LS6 heads. I don't drive a lot, just car shows mainly....so I didn't want to blow a lot of money. I don't have anything to compare it to as this is my first H/C car but I will tell you if you don't get a good tune this cam sucks. I had to bring it back to my tuner and ask him why he would give me a car back running like this. After some back and forth they kept the car for 2 days and now I would have no problem DD'ing this cam, and I have the stock 3.42's.

Don't have any solid numbers as the stock clutch was sticking and couldn't get a good final pull. Now I have a Diamond stage 2 but the car is in storage till May. I did get about an 80rwhp increase even with the bad clutch though, so I don't think an extra 100rwhp with this package would be unreasonable.

I have the PRC stage 2.5 5.3L heads and Torquer V3 cam in my C5 w/ LS6 intake, LS7 clutch, stock M6 trans and 3.42 gears. When I finally got a really good tune (by Fast Motorsports) the car could be fine to dd, if I wanted to. It runs and drives remarkably smooth and doesn't drop power off until about 6400 rpm. Pulls real hard to 6k rpm. Very nice heads/cam package IMHO.

You can view my dyno graph and mods here:

I have the torquer v3 and prc 5.3 heads. Made 444hp, and i love how it drives. I spin mine to 6700, feels like it pulls all the way up!

I used the prc 2.5 ls6 heads and Texas speed 233/239 cam made 451rwhp with 4l60e through yank SS 4000! Was totally street friendly and drove good in traffic!

I just took a look at the V3 specs and to be completely honest, I don't think you will see a significant improvement in "street performance" compared to your current cam. 430hp sounds great until a guy on the street beats you with 400hp because he built for torque.

Hey I've got that cam with the prc 5.3's and I'm making 434 rwhp and 404 rwtq thru a 9" with 3.89's, bbk intake, p&p stock tb,kooks 1 3/4 headers, ory and flowmaster catback, m6 with a ls7 clutch. It does need a good part throttle tune, mine is off still and it stutters while cruising and bucks at low rpm's. But, I'm giving the car to my tuner for a few days to straighten it out. However, at wot, it hauls ***. Pulls hard till 6 grand, and sounds great. This is on a tired stock bottom end with 115k on the clock.
