Pull the bolster off under the steering wheel. There is gonna be a 2 wire connector that is white wires I beleive with a orange sleeve around both of them. After u know what resistors u need then u unplug them wires and put the resistors to the wires that go toward the firewall. Not the column side

I did this last night and the security light is now gone. Wired in 2 resistors in series to get the correct resistance and no more light! Thank you LS1tech community!
Make sure you put the resistance on the correct side of the wires! The physical configuration works if you hold the paper upside down.

We use these in our road race cars.

We strip the columns and remove the key start altogether.
Start using a momentary switch on the dash.

Did you measure resistance properly with digital multimeter (Set your meter to the 20k ohm setting)? How did you read the resistance of the pellet in the key( one lead on each side of the pellet)? Verify your 1.5ohm reading, its a tad outside of ohm values GM used, although I believe there is some room for slight variance. What type of resistor did you buy? I had to try several, a 7.5ohm (1/2 watt resistor) ended up being the ticket for me.
