Hello All,

new guy here checkin in. Picked up an 05 CTS-V with 63k miles on her. So far its just intake and exhaust but planning on a power adder in spring time.
Other toy is an 05 Subaru STi fully built with over 500hp to the wheels on pump gas. Want to see if I can get the V up there and still remain quiet and sleeperish...lol:cheers:

I would love to add one but i am also on the cadillac forums and everyone is sayin the MP112 but other people are sayin prochargers and the TVS1900. Bot no one has a thread about the mods that need to be done for 1900 to fit or a procharger... I talk to Lingenfelter today and they would need my car for a month and between 15-17k to have the 1900 installed and tuned:eek2:. I might as well install the MP112 myself and go home to Livernois and let them tune it...

Shocking....Lingenfelter wants more $$$ than a car is worth just for a TVS 1900....17k to put a Corvette LS2 Magnacharger on....still charging through the nose to install parts they did not design, as they always have. I laugh my ass of at any uneducated fool that throws that amount of cash just for their name. Anything Lingenfelter has "engineered" (ie making other peoples parts "fit" an application it was designed for) can be done by anyone else at 1/3 the cost.

I would honestly just go with a 112, L/T headers, and maybe a cam....anything else and you are going to go through mod hell and it will really just become a burden after a while. You will already have to go with solid motor mounts, revised clutch and flywheel, rear diff, and probably axles unless you want to keep the horrendous axle hop.

If you want to go crazy, I would get the TVS 2300 instead of the 1900...it has been done by quite a few people already. Prochargers and turbos require heavy modifications as there are no kits available, however would still probably come in less than the gold plated Ligenfelter installed Magnacharger TVS 1900.

Your call man.

rear mount turbo system/remote mount turbo system would also be an option.

Are these still available? I thought only a few were sold and STS stopped making the kits. Fabricating a rear mount from scratch is easier than a conventional design, but still isn't easy. Wish Hellion made a kit for our cars...turbo's are bad ass.

First thing you should do is go out and try and launch the cadillac like you launch the STI, thatll put things into perspective about just how much money you wanna sink in the car.

The rear end upgrade costs as much as a blower and long tubes and cam combined.

I tried and it jus sat there and smoked...lol. I see your in Maryland, I live in Clinton... anyway we can meet up? no homo...lol. The car already has intake and exhaust on it, i can handle the install of the 112 myself but i wanted something different then whatever one else has...

Negative.

Ford 8.8 with the right gearing= $350
Partial kit from CS= $2700

My blower alone was $4100

Hey CancerJCC,
your running a MP122 blower? Magnuson told me that it wouldn't fit my car... Did you install it yourself? This is frustrating... So far i have heard a Whipple won't fit= not true,
MP122 won't fit= not true, TVS1900 won't fit= not true... what the hell do these shops mean... Do they mean it won't fit in a plain over the counter kit do some random customs parts here and there???...

welcome new V ex subaru owner from MD...

Had a stage 2.5 Legacy GT and sold it to get my V...

Which subaru shop did you use? MachV(doubtful)? Agile? Andrewtech? Iag? or my personal choice DPS?

Good looking should join Mid atlantic domestics(too many fords but good guys)...

My V is intake and headers/catback and awaiting CAM install then juice.

You really think your getting a built 8.8 for 350? Good luck putting a stock 8.8 diff in the 4,000 lb cadillac.

QFT. Funny in the other thread "over there" how people are saying Lingenfelter's big costs are for well engineered parts! lol

Ahhh the sheeple....Lingenfelter goes to great length to make sure they get no bad press. How often do you hear about a Congressman banging his mistress or cashing that check from a lobbyist? We all know it happens, but one should find it eerie that there is almost no bad press about these fools. Same with Lingenfelter in my book.

I thought they were decent for a while also....before I became a Corvette/Camaro Tech and saw the crap they were pushing for a ridiculous premium (remember the Accel intakes for the L98?)....not so much b/c of the quality of the parts, but they charged on average anywhere from 40%-110% over what I could buy them for down the street at the local speed shop. I was astonished that these guys would pay sooo much and argue that they were "Lingenfelter" parts...even after I peeled the damn sticker off. Realizing you can't fix stupid, I started charging more also and everyone was happy.

The real breaking point for me was the "Custom LT-1 383 stroker tunes" that Lingenfelter did for Hypertech....you had to buy the Hypertech programmer for around $400 and then you could get a Lingenfelter program card with the "Custom Stoker Tune" for another $500 or so. The first motor I put one in went exactly 27 miles when the H-beam rod broke at the big end during break-in cruising at 55 mph. The car belonged to one of the detailers at the dealership I worked at then so I know the entire history of the car. Motor went back to the machine shop and was rebuilt and broke another rod (the same way) at 70 miles while in stop and go traffic.

Third motor was built by another shop and I was driving and logging with a Tech-2 when it blew...recorded something like -40* of timing under decel and realized that it was post ignition from the tune the entire time that had been popping the 600 hp+ H-beam rods.

Called Lingenfelter and was told their tune was not to blame....until I advised that I had a Tech-2 data log that documented the issue. I sent it to them. After two weeks of them smart assing and not returning calls, leaving us on hold when they did answer, and just generally being shitty acting like they were know it all gods, they finally deferred us to another company that actually provided the tune to Lingenfelter....they had just gone out of business when I finally got their contact info. Lingenfelter took no ownership of the problem at all. The only thing they stood by was the "Offroad Only" tag since we were driving it on the street. This was back in '97 (maybe, i'm getting old) and was before message boards like LS1 Tech were popular.

So, am I going to argue with some idiot content with buying into nothing more than marketing? Nope....you still can't fix stupid.

The bottomend was built by Agile, 99.75 CP race pistons, eagle rods, and cryo treated crank, Andrewtech:hump: did the head work with supertech valve train, kelford 264 cams, dual springs and retainers, black fmic core turbo xs custom piping. GTX35r single deatchwerks 300 lph fuel pump, 1000 injectors, fuel pressure reg, aquamist hfs-6 kit. Tuned by Jermaine at Turbo XS.:hump:
Never heard to much good about DPS...lol. I know what ever they broke Andrewtech or Phil at Element fixed...lol

Ummmmm, how about just heads/cam and nitrous. No one else likes this path? At least that's what I'll be doing soon.

Heads/Cams and spray would take it out of the daily driver slot in the garage and turn it into a weekend special. I am thinking just adding a supercharger would the kill the urge for more power. As close as i can get to 450 without making it louder than my STi is what i'm shooting for... I guess i have to wait to meet up with some of the locals and see how loud and lopey the car sounds with a Cam/Heads...

I drive my heads/cam CTS-V everyday, and love it. I'm probably not too far, come on out to Jersey one day. Plus you could do heads/cam and run it through a stock exhaust if you really wanted and get pretty damn close, if not over 450

DPS was ok... I would never take my car to them. I ran an AP for management and Perus(misspelled his name) was only good with open source tunes... Hill and Annie are kool at Agile but we had issues with my motor build and ended up coming back to Andrew at Andrewtech and JJ at IAG for body stuff. Didn't like the vibe at Mach V, plus VA police loved my tint and exhaust...lol:eyes:
