Default SD Tune w/out Running a VSS

Is there any power loss doing this, or idle issues? etc,etc,etc..

Are you meaning without a functioning speedometer?

depends which model/year. The newer computers (e38/e67) have a speed component in their temperature estimator which gets used in SD calculations. but with the older stuff, there's no such thing.
The speed sensor also gets used as an 'idle detection', that's not directly related to SD, but that's in just about every computer I can think of. Not sure if that's just one of multiple ways to detect you're in idle fueling/spark tables, or the sole one. Experiment is in order I guess.

It shouldn't hurt anything on your year.

There is just one limiter for RPM that you will have to raise. It is one Just for VSS failure. Simple fix.

You might have to do some extra tweaking on the airflow tables however, as you wont have a working Throttle cracker table vs speed.

i find them to be pretty easy to tune this way because the its under/over speed spark tables are always active...

If you got rid of the ABS you can always tap into your wheel sensor and scale it in the PCM to run the speedo.

Decell will not work properly. I have done it about three weeks ago. I have a 6 spd car and left off the gas for a few seconds and push the clutch in car would just drop past 950rpms and die. That was The pony issue I have found, after plugging up vss no changes in une the car would respond correctly in decell hope that helps

if its a manual OS you just need to mess with the throttle follower Decay at 0 Mph, that worked for me on a 451 ls7 240sx that had no vss signal
