Still waiting for header gaskets, but thats about it. Should be able to fire it up tomorrow.

nice I am doing a swap build. Ill be going with carb tho but am itching to stick with the EFI... idk yet tho... but looks nice.. how did you guys get the block looking brand new?

Just had it hot tanked at the machine shop

Nice... that's what I am getting ready to do as well... just wasn't sure if I should hot tank it or have it sand blasted. I think I will go with the hot tank now. I am going to paint it as well. to match the color of the car.... (atomic orange). any numbers yet?

Not bad numbers at all! I am assuming you went with a pretty mild cam. With those nice intake/heads I would think you could be in the high 400s.

What was the original issue with the oil pressure, stuck bypass valve?

I'm just gonna assume that after the cam started to eat itself, and filling engine full of shavings, that some how the oil pump got damaged from all the debris. That honestly is just my opinion as to what happened though. We did disassemble the pump and it was visibly worn inside, but who knows.

Yes the cam specs were on the small side because we were interested in decent low end torque,as this car will be daily driven more than raced. We're just gonna put a big shot on it to make up the difference....
