So I'm out playing basketball with some friends when a buddy of mine calls me and asks me if I wanted to play with a Cobra. I asked what year. Guy tells me 04, and where to meet. I tell them to meet me at the park and we could roll from there. Really cool dude, but his car is just way faster than mine.

I agree, something doesn't seem right. Is your car an auto or manual, how much boost are you pushing, and what type of turbo kit do you have? Is your motor stock? I've seen stock ls1s with turbo kits make 500 rwhp.

From another thread hes running a 60mm turbo on a 5.3 at 11psi. He needs a bigger turbo for sure because the car is slow as ****.

agree a boosted 5.3 should be putting out way more than that, my cam only car would blow the doors of that ss, op there is something wrong with your ride for sure, i know you said it has issues in your other thread but i wouldnt mess around with 500 hp kb cobras untill you get your issues fixed,

car was stock 5.3 on 11lbs on 60-1 hifi turbonetics turbo. super inefficient hot piping and never dyno tuned. turbo is just to small to do anything with on this car. stopped making power on the dyno at 5200 rpm and pulling 9.4:1 a/f. this is why car now undergoing surgery.

Has anyone posted a good 5.3 budget turbo build in a while?

my turbo kit is for sell and i will let everything go including tune and injectors radiator fans brake lines and bracket to move abs module power steering lines power steering relocation braket . also a custom drop bracket for the radiator so u do not have to cut the top core support. also this kit keeps the ac! this is a KYTP KIT header forward kit all stainless hot side with a tc78 it made 504whp and 515tq 0n 71/2 pounds you can check my build out at MY KYTP TURDO BUILD if u have any questions call me at 304 365 2585

You need to put at least a 76mm turbo on that thing. Toss out that garbage truck intake for an ls6 intake. Ls6 heads. And add an intercooler. Those things are abundant and easy to find for a good price. You can easily add 100-150hp with those.
Edit:Swap cams to the ls6 cam too.
