FRom everything I've researched, the gain from stock manifolds to shortys is negligible. That being said if you can't do long tubes don't worry too much about shortys. Cost vs. gain would not be worth it to me but, if the look is part of the equation that would be obviously up to you. Stockers do seem to work well for what they are and fit well too.
