Default quick wastegate question

if I remove all the vacum lines going to it, it will just open based on spring pressure correct?

or does it need a vacum/boost source to operate?

trying to debug why it doesn't appear to be opening.

tial wastegate if it matters.

Completly negative. It needs boost to operate. If you dont have a vaccum source to it, it will just keep spooling till the turbo maxes out. So, like ALOT of psi. 40, 50+.

ahhhhhhhh makes sense now that I stop and think about it, 6psi spring will activate when it see's 6psi of pressure via the port, why I had it in my head it was based off exhaust flow I have no clue, getting old I guess

I will check my lines.

thanks for setting me straight.

This is true to an extent. It is possible to eventually build enough pressure in the exhaust manifolds to open the waste gate valve. It would still equal lots of boost pressure though.
