1981 Fairmont Futura roller for sale

No rust, never had any, an original low mileage Florida car.

Car was totally disasembled and is basically new from top to bottom.

Body has been smoothed, moldings deleted, landau top deleted, custom hood.

New high dollar base/clear paint job, wetsanded, buffed and polished.

Original interior in good shape.

AJE k member and A arms, can accept big or small chevy/ford/dodge

custom one off subframe connectors

Coilovers, strange 10 ways all around

Built 8.8 was straightened, tubes welded, C clip eliminators, 33 spline mosier axles, 4:10s and a lightweight strange spool.

Chrome moly upper and lower control arms-double adjustable, spherical bushing.

Spare tire well deleted and 15 gallon aluminum fuel cell added, aluminum battery box added.

Custom fuel door panel fabbed, battery connectors are in there.

Mickey Thompsons all around, Weld Rodlites all around.

Fronts are 5 inch, backs are 10 inch ET streets

Everything I listed is new, car has never been driven since built.

Basically add your drivetrain, run fuel lines and go.

Drop in a lightweight powertrain and you have the ultimate sleeper, add a cage and you have a sick race car.

Fairmonts are light, I made it lighter, the A/C box is still installed with new components if you want a street car.

Car was built with all the best and it shows, first to see it

will buy it, it is the nicest Fairmont you will see.

Not looking for any trades atm,

Email me at violalessons@hotmail.com

thanks for looking

Forgot to mention, torque boxes have been beefed up a lot, plates welded in, will hold quite a bit of power. Also have the driveshaft loop for it but as I did not have a driveshaft, I did not install it. I'm sure there is more I'm forgetting, if I get less senile I'll post up again...

Like now, car had an ls3 mocked up in it, flaming river steering shaft installed for header clearance...any ls motor will fit in perfect, all you need is a 60 dollar set of mounts from aje...same for big or small ford/chevy if you are so inclined...

Something else I forgot, rear has a TA cover on it, massive piece of metal.

Did not like any of the available hoods and my body guy agreed, so he made that one, sharp isn't it?

Best response to my add so far?

"Are there any known engine defect?"

Are you serious?!?

Thats what I was going to do, it would be seriously easy to build a sick fast car that actually got good mileage. All the hard/expensive stuff is already done, drop in motor/trans, run fuel line, done for the most part. I had an L92 nicely built and a 6l80e but ran out of cash and had to sell them.

I've been asked about how light it is, here is what I know:

Title said 2700 with a straight 6 and a c-4 and I checked it and it was correct.

Took sound deadening material from the floor(not fun) and found Ford had sealed some seams with lead....dug that out too. I'd guess that killed maybe 20-30 lbs.

K member swap with all related stuff has to be good for 80-90 lbs

Cut out spare tire well and lost gas tank, maybe 30-40 lbs

Switched to Weld Rodlites probably saved a little but not huge.

So around 150 lbs lighter so it would be 2550.

LS3 I was going to use was actually lighter then the straight six but the trans was a bit heavier so it was a wash.

Bottom line is a 2500 lb LS Fairmont would be very easy to do.

Almost forgot the flaming river manual rack had to save some weight as well

so 2500 should be with heat and A/C, less if you delete that big a/c box.

Hope that helps!

Matt
