I ran Federal Mogul cam bearings and Clevite rod and mains. 1200 miles so far with no problems lol. As for gaskets, went all Fel Pro or stock GM replacements. I went with the Fel Pros just because they sold an entire motor rebuild gasket kit so I didn't have to piece things together. Just make sure you don't use their shitty graphite gaskets. No gasket problems whatsoever anywhere on the car.

Clevite here, cant really beat them. Federal mogul, speed pro, and acl ate all good bearings.

We have been using a lot of KING bearings lately.
The two LS engines we used for the Engine Masters had the same set for both years.
When we tore the engine down from last year the bearings were in such good shape I reused them for this year.

We also use a lot of King, ACL, and Clevite (in that order for the most part unless another bearing is required to make slight adjustments to the clearance).

I keep the Clevites in stock cause they are priced great and we have great luck with them with every engine build we do.

My dad alway told me to use Clevite, my college professors always raved about KING.

I think your safe with either choice, just make sure you measure EVERYTHING.

Personally I like King bearings as they have a little silicon in them which gives them alot of good qualities ,,,,,,,,,I don';t know if Clevite 77's have silicon or Federal Mogul(Sealed Power , Speed-Pro) or not maybe someone on here knows . I don't think King makes rod bearings .002" larger outer diameter for the LS based gen3's and gen 4's rods that You hone out to re-true but I know that both Clevite and Federal Mogul does in different under-sizes.

I used:

Clevite CB663HN Rod Bearings - Narrowed for crank fillet clearance
Clevite SH1814S Camshaft Bearings
Clevite MS2199H Main Bearings
Felpro on the Oil Pan Gasket, Front and Rear cover gasket, and Water Pump gaskets.

Haven't picked intake or head gaskets yet.

They come with some Eagle rotating kits, I personally don't use them. I throw them out, however it seems in this thread that people use them for LS motors, even sponsors. It is kind of hard to argue with that as they probably assemble as many engines in a week as I do in a year.

King or Clevite here (Dura-bond for cam bearings). Between King or Clevite, they both are priced around the same, but depends on the application. For example on the 463 BBC we did not too long ago, King was $80 for a set (HP series) and Clevite was about $100 for a set (H series) of mains.

I did a quick search (don't know the specifics of your combo, just for comparison's sake), King Tri-metal $145, Clevite Tri-metal $152, Clevite Tri-metal Coated $199. Just FWIW.

I did some reading on the kings and I thought they were bi-metal also those prices seem a little high. Where are you getting them from

Those prices are for the high performance or race bearings which are alot tougher than the lower priced bearings . You should only use the high perf bearings with a forged crank because if You use them with a stock crank You can and will wear the crank before the bearings most likely and it can prematurely wear the crank . So I'd suggest talking to some experienced builders and/or suppliers so You match bearings and crank for the most even and longest wear . Oh and each brand has a few different metal configurations depending on which bearing and application . For instance Clevite I believe was the first to develop the tri-metal bearing but I know they also have an aluminum rod bearing for LS gen 3's and gen 4's ............etc

Come on, you know this isn't true. Tin, lead/antimony, or copper even combined is not harder than a crankshaft. Also if your crankshaft is not riding on an oil wedge at all times, then it doesn't matter what bearing you have as the end is near for that engine.

Straight from Summit, PN MB5013XP, Tri-metal copper-lead nickel.

I'd stick with Clevite P bearings, inexpensive, been around for years, work just fine.
