Default Help needed with freeze plug on ls motor.

Currently building my ls motor and my machince shop removed the freeze plug on the front of the block next to the oil pump. They said it was just a 5/8 plug which I have went and picked up two now. The issue is they are sliding in with no resistance.. the diameter of hole is .628 and the outer diameter of freeze plug is .626 so I guess my question is this a special plug and I need to find elsewhere? if I knew a way to widen the plug I would just do that but I assume that should be knocked in with a brass hammer.

Further investigation shows its called the oil galley plug gm# 9427693 which I guess is a special plug.

Tap it for a pipe plug.
Done it several times with no problems just make sure you dont go to far and block the oil passage coming from the pump.
