Default Ok to handport 243's?

Is it ok to smooth out the intake ports on 243 heads. Ive heard it can disrupt the flow of the air coming in. I only thought that was on earlier "vortec" style heads? I already did the exhaust ports but wanted to ask first before I did the intake side. Any info is appreciated, thanks guys. Merry christmas to everyone!!!

I don't think it'll make much difference either way

You can blend the bowls with a rough (36 or 80 grit) cartridge roll and even
knock the rocker boss bump out (carbide cutter) but absolutely DO NOT
polish the intake runner smooth. This causes what's called boundary layer
dropout = very bad

Ok thats what I thought I seen on a few threads here. I take it cnc'ing is different than polishing?
