Looking for upgrade ideas...
Hello folks, looking for some small project ideas for the winter time. The car is a 2001 Trans Am WS6 with an A4. Mileage is 51800 at the moment. The only thing I have done with it is add an SLP lid, but I have plans to get a Magnaflow catback soon. Also planning to get a Frost tune as well. Where should I go from here? Looking for mostly easy bolt on stuff for now, until I get my feet a little more wet and get some confidence while working on this thing. Ultimately my goal is to have 400 RWHP in a solid daily driver. Any ideas are welcome! Also, here is a pic of the car...

an new rear is def a good idea...but if he is not racing/launching he should be fine with less than 400rwhp. Im right at 400 and my rear hasnt popped yet. I know experiences vary widely with this rear. I would also look into suspension mods...at least subframe connectors. They made a world of difference on my car.

First off, Beautiful car!
Here's my .02¢. You didn't give us a budget, but for what it's worth. Headers, Full Exhaust, Pulley, 3600 Stall, Tune. If you're going with 400 rwhp later, a mail order tune isn't a bad idea.

Thanks for the compliment NVUSZ28. udienow: I really have no plans to do any drag racing, I just want a solid street car that will be great for some spirited but reliable driving. The 400 HP is really just a nice, round number to set a goal for...and I figured it wouldn't be hard to get there considering how strong these cars are stock.
I already have a lid, and was probably going to buy a Magnaflow Catback soon. Also I was planning on getting a Frost tune. So with those 2 items I'm looking at $750 (I want to get a new PCM with my tune so I can keep my stock PCM.) It looks like everyone is a fan of a stall. How easy is that to do with jack stands/ramps? Also, is there one in particular that I should be looking at? Will the stall affect the tune, rather, should I get a tune before or after I do a stall?
I guess I should mention that I am going to be putting on my set of Torq Thrust II's I had from a previous car, not that will make any difference performance wise.

I recommend doing headers with the catback system. As for the stall, Yank or Circle D are the two best IMO. 400hp is fairly easy with these motors, but if you are wanting 400 to the wheels, you more than likely will have to go to a more aggressive cam
+1... do as many mods as possible before a tune to get the most bang for the buck.
