Default Engine build advice

i was hoping i can get some advise from some lsx gurus on my build.

So far i have a 408 mapped out with prc 237 heads and a ls7s cam from TSP. the car is going to run big shots of nitrous so im stuck in the middle as to whether i should upgrade my 1 3/4 headers to 1 7/8?

would the fast 92 be sufficient for my combo or would a ported fast 102 be optimal?

It's going to be running a 4l80e but as for stall size im unsure and was looking to get some advice. I was wondering what gears would be perfect for this setup as well (9" or 12 bolt). I know its a million questions but i rather build it right the first time then have to do it twice and there's no better place to ask but ls1tech!! thanks in advance.

Imo, yes on the 1 7/8s, ported fast 102, atleast a 4k stall and 3.42 gears should work good at the strip and on the highway.

Its not just the nitrous that going to need the 1 7/8 headers its the bigger cubic inch that will, so you should switch to 1 7/8 for sure. for gears it depends on your power band and also what size tires are you going to be running. If its 26 inch tall then 3.73's but its you stepping up the size 4.10's just my .02. good luck with the build

Since you are running nitrous, the bigger headers are definitely worth it. I would get a 3600 stall convertor spec'd for the nitrous. 4k might be a little too much if you are running a big shot depending on how tight it is. Rear gear is going to depend on what size tire you will be running, powerband of your cam, etc.

ride on bro. for sure im doing the bigger headers and fast 102 unported because 500 for a few more horses is out of the question right now.

3600 is what i have now but its only good for 550whp from yank. im probably going with a 26 inch tires as well.

the cam specs are 242/250 .650'/.650' (with 1.8:1 Rocker Ratio), 114 LSA
