Default R.i.p. 02 z28 camaro a4

What do you all think could have caused this damage to a bone stock camaro. Engine did not spin higher that 3K when this happened and was under normal driving conditions. Car was driven about 2 days a week

Ouch. Looks like the block took a hit too.

Faulty rod. Too bad it didn't happen under warranty.

Time to build that bad *** motor you've been dreaming of!

Rod broke about 2/3 of the way up toward the piston and put two holes in the oil pan on each side of the block. Block and pan are junk know, anyone know where I can find a used ls6 block I can build?

If you're going to go with a complete rebuild and not just a used engine, look into a ls2 block. Little more room to make some nice power.

Ls1 & LS6 blocks are "the same". Agreed on the LS2 advice.

If I were to go with an ls2, lq4 or lq9 could I use the sensors out of the current engine to keep the stock wire harness?

Ouch, had a rod break myself a couple years ago. It is not pretty.
