also let me know if you think it sounds ricey, but i think it will smooth out the back of the car nice!

blackouts or any other light cover is the *EPITOME* of the term rice.

Blackouts aren't the epitome of rice, but slotted covers like Pissed is talking about sure is. Don't do it for the sake of everything that is domestic. Either slap some blackouts or leave em plain.

Oh no! My old car was rice!

And then later you say you have a set of blackouts in your garage.

Anyway, I agree with what was said earlier. Either blackouts or not, but not with anything cut out of them.

Sounds like a cool idea.....I'm not a fan of the blackouts for both asthetic and safety reasons, but to each his own....

You won't know if it's cool or not unless you just try it.

IMHO Shaded covers are "OK" as long as they aren't too dark, but opaque? (!)
I guess as long as you have enough intelligence to take them OFF while driving, then go for it!

(Remember those lamps are that BIG AND BRIGHT for a rather obvious reason!)

BTW, Isn't that "bling" thing only good for "urban minorities" with "pimpmobiles"?

Blackouts are not rice. Slotted/drilled covers - ugly though they are IMHO - aren't rice either.

Here's mine:

(some photo editing invlolve, its not really a one-piece)

Its getting annoying that almost everything is being called rice.
This is rice:

The term "bling" is from cartoon sound effects. Its that sound you hear during a cartoon when light glints off something shiney like chrome or someone's big flashy smile.

ive learned to embrace the concept of "bling" but i try and use it only for good.. not evil..

Example.. 18" full polished HRE wheels = good bling 26" spinners on your hummer = bad bling

Oh, back to topic -- i would think that would not let enough light out, would get you hassled by "the man" and if you got in an accident i could see you having more liablilty since the other driver may not have been able to see your turnsignals or brake lights..

There are also melting problems associated with the increased heat generated by the blackouts..

everytime this comes up i don't understand it. i have blackouts front and back, pretty much always have and i love the way the car looks with them on. how are they rice??

i've had them on the car pretty much the entire time i've owned it, almost 6 years and no heat issues or whatever..but i do have a friend who's tal light has an indentation melted into it from the heat being trapped by the blackouts.

so i guess my junk is rice then.
