Default tach signal?

Lq4 transplant with truck ignition, still injected and using coil packs. Wanting to add Autometer tach....where is a good source for feed? This is all new (black magic!) to me

Tach wire from harness. Red connector, wire 10. I believe ls1 send a 4cl output so you'll have to set your tach to 4cl.

thanks for the reply! will the Haynes book for say a 2002 truck show the pin out/wire numbers? Fairly sure that's what the motor/module is from

You will more than likely need to boost the tach signal to make an autometer tach work.

so red wire #10, set on 4cyl, and boost it?

It is the #10 white wire in the red harness. And for some reason I had to set my tach to 6cyl mode for it work properly. Doesn't make any sense but maybe auto meter labeled the tach wrong during assembly. Also you do have to boost the wire with a 12v key hot source and run a 1K resistor between the two wires. It will work flawless. Good luck
