Default Any shop for brake upgrades? in SoCal

Im looking for a shop that could modify my spindle and make me a hub and brake bracket for some 5th gen brakes. Around Los Angeles would be much better

Why not just do the c5/6 upgrade? Whole kits are under 1000 bucks.

those mods might not be needed...look for a thread on using CTS-V brakes. the 5th gen calipers are similar and should go in similarly.

i think he needs this for a third gen.

on our cars we have to modify our spindle, tap and drill onto the oem spindle. machine down a rotor for a hub assembly, longer studs, custom caliper brackets, hardware etc etc

I didn't know as he didn't specify for what car I just assumed 4th gen. I don't know much about 3rd gens but I know they make a bracket kit for the 3rd gens also to use c5/6 stuff as well.

im with 'nomoneyz' on this...the OP didnt specify the year/gen. I assumed that the car in question was like 95% of the cars on this site...late 4th gen.

Wait how much do you machine down a rotor assembly? There is a certain amount you can machine a rotor down to, if you do anymore you are just plain stupid. I do not know the measurements off the top of my head but seriously? You would rather machine down a rotor instead of buying the correct brake setup? I am sure someone makes a brake upgrade for third gens.

i forgot your adam and you know everything.
you used a stock 82-92 rotor to be machined down into a hub.
like i said i bought my kit new since they sell kits for thirdgens.

No I don't know everything but there is a Max amount of machining you do to a rotor before they are unusable. How exactly do they machine it? Not the rotor surface correct?

What they do is cut of all the rotor surface and only leave the center and machine it in a taper that way it looks like a hub just like fourth gens have.

SickRs, I might have the correct drill and tap to modify the spindles if you are going C5. I think the V setups use different threaded bolts?
