The Spec 3 I have in my car now is suprisingly holding up at my current boost/power level but I have some new plans for 2012. So before I tear this one up I think the smart thing to do would get a proven clutch that's built for the power level I'm shooting for. (850-900 rwhp) What is the best streetable clutch that will hold without a doubt? Mcleod twin disc? I want a clutch that will hold on the street and possibly see a track visit every now and then.

I'm gonna give Bob a shout here soon and go with a different pulley setup and finally get the Aster bracket that the F1-A has been begging for! Car is currently making 12/13 lbs and I'm having slight belt slip with the stock procharger bracket so it's time for a change.

To be honest I'd really like to max the blower out, but then again I'd be happy to see it make somewhere in the neighborhood of 18 lbs. What do you guys think is the most boost this blower/motor setup can produce with the right pulley and Aster bracket? And what pulley do I need to reach the desired boost?

I a really surprised a spec 3 is holding up. Mcleod is hard to beat. I had 3 of the spec 3+! stock clutch was alot better.

I really like my monster 11 inch single disc it holds my 376 with d1sc well. Ive had a textrilla and mcleod twin disc before but the monster seems to have worked the best so far for me.

ACT twin organic really does drive like stock, and they have 3 cover options rated for around 900-1000lbft

Not 100% sure how it will hold to a launch with sticky tyres. But if you wanted to sacrifice the totally smooth driving, you could opt for the puck discs instead.

And I'm not exaggerating on the smoothness. Ive previously had a Tex OZ700 which was superb, although it may not hold what you want.
I then had their Exo triple disc. It drove great, it did grip...but eventually had issues and wasnt able to source parts.

it's only since Ive moved back to an organic clutch Ive realised the previous Exo wasnt as smooth as I had thought. It was very good, but it was not smooth.

IMO the ACT clutches really are a bargain. You'll get what you need for less than $1k and that's complete flywheel and clutch

McLeod street twin here. I've made into the 800's and the clutch seems to be doing ok. It was used when I put it in so I'll be getting it rebuilt when I go back home. I plan on upping the boost here as well. I ran 2 different monsters and had horrible results.

I had the Mcleod RXT twin disk and billet steel flywheel, loved it. Was making close to 700rwhp/750ft lbs on a nitrous 402 that was right around 3800lbs with me in it. Held just fine doing 6k dumps on slicks and the streetability was AWESOME. I believe the RXT's are 1200hp rated

I too have the McLeod RXT street twin. I plan on pushing it to 1100ish... (though I do more Mexico runs than at the track) This is all with a TR6060, so the clutch is a 2010+ camaro clutch which is rated to 1000whp in a 4000lb camaro (which I would assume would hold more in a lighter 4th gen). Everything I've read and researched says these clutches hold the power, and are very streetable.

RXT here also, drives amazingly smooth and has never slipped in 5k miles on me. Friends have monster and I'd never own one. Chatters, stiff clutch and squeels, this Mcleod has about the same pedal feel as a LS7 clutch.

Centerforce DYAD. Best clutch I've ever used hands down! Taking that POS spec twin out if you want a deal on one Kody. I also have a Mcleod twin that just came back from them getting rebuild for $750 with the adj master. Also Have two Textrailla tripples which is my second favorite. I have read a lot of people liking the RXT from Mcleod. But I haven't tried that one. Just a lot of others lol! I have driven people's cars with the RPS clutches, but they are pricey and didn't feel half as good as the Centerforce DYAD clutch.

Now on to the second half of my OP-what pulley do I need to order to achieve the hightest boost level and typically what's the most boost my setup can produce? I understand the concept that every car/setup is different and it's hard to say exactly how much a car can make but I know there have been plenty of guys on here that have had a similar setup to me and I'm talking ballpark 408/F1-A #'s... 22 lbs?

Well with the factory ATI balancer pulley size of 7.65" on an F1a with a max RPM of 6800 you can run a 3.70 or if you decide to spin the motor higher I would pic a 3.80 or a 3.85" blower pulley. Will max out your blower based on what ATI's max RPM limits are of the head unit. And as far as boost you can't calculate that until you have some base lines with your current pulley configuration and then you can calculate how many PSI every size difference will in theory provide, but that doesn't mater at al Kody. I mean if you want to max out the blower then just do that and in the end you will know how much boost it makes lol! Thats what I do I don't care about the PSI it makes just the HP. GL! Oh and most of ATI's blowers are rated to be able to make 28PSI but that doesn't mean you can make that with a 408 etc... I know you know what I'm talking about.

We mostly install Mcleod RXT's. In my eye's the best clutch for the money.
