I am about to do a build of a 454 motor and I am leaning toward the ERL 454 but I am wondering what people think about the LSX454 GM but I think with it being Iron it would be a little heavier and price wise I think they are pretty close. GM offers the Callies crank while ERL is COMPSTAR and I have a direct port nitrous on top so I usually run the 200 HP jets. Thinking LSX 102 intake matched with trickflow 265 heads looking for any suggestions and thoughts with the ERL versus the GM LSX 454 short blokc which you think is better. Also cam suggestions for most power and good drivability in a 6 speed 2002 Camaro, just looking for suggestions really before I make the decision of which route to take, thanks.

I'm currently building an old school 454 big block to install in a 1979 Trans-Am Firebird, but finding the right transmission to bolt to the engine, I'm having trouble figuring out on what to go with. Please help me out on this decision somebody!

JoJo I would strongly suggest a BOP TH400. The BOP refers to the bellhousing. It is specific to Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac. A chevy bell / bolt pattern wont work.
