Default CA doodz. fix-it ticket in the Jeep

i got pulled over today because my tires stick out past my fenders. Even though there is millions of Jeeps driving around on huge tire setups, my 3" lift 33" tire setup is endangering all of man-kind. They stick out maybe 2 inches.

here's the gameplan: wait a week, and go into CHP, without changing anything. I tell them that I had no fenders on at the time of violation, and put the factory fenders back on after the fact. This is in hopes that whoever is inspecting either thinks factory is good enough and/or it looks normal.

question: in the event that the inspector is a douche and measures it all out, what happens if i don't pass? Do they slap me with fines for wasting their time, or do they tell me to fix it better and come back?

just extend the fender?? the cop didn't tell me anything that was required, so i don't know if it's just the fenders need to be extended or i need actual mudflaps that hang to the ground with yosimite sam on them.

this is why i was going to test them with my factory fenders, and see what they are actually wanting, but not if it's going to cost me troubles.

Idk if it's the same but I had a truck that the tires stuck put about the same and I got and ticket. They told me I just needed mud flaps and I could get it inspected. ******* cops don't have nothing better to do now a days.

They don't even make mudflaps for Jeeps lol. I think they should be an exception!

maybe i should tell them that i'd be creating more danger by using homemade jerry rigged mudflaps that can possibly fall off and danger the lives of surrounding motorists lol

i'm sure i can find some at a truck stop or something. but i will go down in flames before i do that lol.

can't really read it, besides that i have until feb. 16th to correct the issue. I just remember him saying my tires were too big/stuck out too much, and could throw rocks at people.

WOW, teraflex makes those... that's who makes my lift

see i don't know if they want something like that, or just fenders that extend out a little longer? He didn't really mention the height of my jeep, just the way the tires stuck out from the fenders. those flaps are $100, no way in hell i'm spending that just to pass this inspection for 5 minutes. this sucks

Don't know how to fix your Jeep. But if you take it to CHP and they say that's not going to work, they won't fine you. But you still only have till Feb to fix it, so best to get going on your "fix" before time runs out.
