are 20 mile on the clock LME cylinder walls supposed to look like this? I'm going to take a wide guess and say no.
It's a lq9 forged with wisecos, lunati rods, and eagle crank. I bought it off of altrdta with 20 miles on it and just got around to start installing it. It hasn't left the engine stand since I took delivery.

anyone have an opinion on whats going to happen if I run this? I don't have the funds to do a complete tear down just to see if my pistons are scored badly. the scoring is very shallow, i couldn't feel it when I tried to feel for grooves.
the pistons do have lateral gas ports, does anyone think lme didnt take into account the gas ports when gapping the rings?

The second picture doesn't look good IMO. If that was an engine I built I'd be pulling it back apart to see what is what. Might not be a big deal but if something IS wrong now is the time to fix. Head gaskets and bolts are what it will cost you now to verify...
But, by posting your concerns and then deciding to forge ahead you will be insulting Mr. Murphy! Never a good idea to cross Murphy...
Gas ports (done properly) should not effect ring fit in bore or piston. It should not create the marks you have.
Have you contacted the folks who put this together? I'd want their opinion before doing anything.

NO WAY I would NOT run it ! I have tore down 2 mtrs from salvage pullouts in the last 3 mo. 1 was supposed to have 77k the other 84k .
We honed all cylinders with no issues & did alot of hand turining fitment check ect & this is not normal .

Call Bryan at LME and explain the problem. I'm sure they will be more than willing to help you out.

Not normal. Didn't happen by turning it over by hand unless there was debris. Obviously a clearance issue if the scoring is in the same location on each hole. Time to pull the worst one, inspect/measure the piston/rings and take a few measurements of the cylinder with a dial bore gauge. You'll be speculating until then. Fresh motor? Figure it out now.

I talked with bryan at lme and sent him the pic. he said the motor should be good to go and the light scoring is pretty common on ls motors. I have never heard that scoring is common on these motors, but then again I haven't built a thousand of these.

I bought if off altrdta and he even signed a piece something that said there were no problems with the motor, he just wanted a larger ci motor and bigger turbos.

It looks so similar to an engine I had built, 15k later with no end of problems trying to get it to run properly, I had it stripped by a different shop, the rods had been installed wrong, the bearings looked like a 500k trashed engine, cam was trashed, 4 bores oval etc etc. You need to strip it & have a real good look.
This not to say in any way this has happened to yours though, but you have a major issue, sorry man.
