Fellas, I'm a bit worried about screwing up the install of my new Moser 12 bolt (3.73, POSI, 33 spline, TC/ABS). Here's what I plan on doing, and I want to be sure that this is right!!!

1. Remove old rear end, pull out axles
2. press off the exciter rings from old axles (is this a problem? should i be ready for buying new ones? I'm going to a Napa to do it...)
3. take off the caliper bracket (haven't seen it yet, but the moser directions talk about it)
4. on the new axles - put on the caliper bracket, press on the exciter rings. (I read that you have to 'line up' something. What needs lining up? The cliper bracket?)
5. press on the bearing.

That's about it (besides hooking up the sway bar to the new rear end).

Anything wrong with the above? is there a good step through somewhere?

I dont want the rearend doing this: :bomb:

thanks!

Alright, I found out some more

I bought a Napa 447X u-joint to connect the 1350 pinion gear to the stock drive shaft.

I also got 8x 3/8" SEA Grade 8 Fine thread nuts, 80W-90 gear oil, POSI additive, and 3" OD muffler clamps.

Do you guys think I'll have trouble pressing off the old exciter rings?

Any info and help would be appreciated.

OK, I got the rear end in...

I'm getting the axle bearings pressed on...

how the heck do you secure them in the differential without C-clamps? what bolts on? I didn't see how to secure the axles anywhere.

If anyone's reading, the 447x is't the correct U-joint. What's the right U-joint to use to connect the 1350 pinion yoke to the stock 1998 LS1 driveshaft?

The brake caliper mounts with the parking brakes installed get in the way and I haven't figured out how to get them out of the way yet. :bang:

also, I haven't been able to re-mount the sway bar. It seems the new differential is bigger and the stock sway bar won't mount up. I cant get the top bolt to line up (I disconnected at the frame since the long bolt was WAY rusted). Should i reposition the long bolt to fit??

ARRRGH!!!!
