Dyno Guesses & Bench Racing Forum - Bench Racing: 370Z vs LS1 Formula

Buddy of mine bought a $40,000 370Z M6 (stock) and he wants to know if I'd like to run him, no money on the table or anything. I'm kind of tempted to just to see what happens. How do you guys think this would play out?

2011 Nissan 370Z 6-speed manual trans, bone stock.
vs
1999 Firebird Formula A4 with 2.73's, street tires, slp lid, arh 1-7/8" long tubes, arh 3" ory, borla adjustable catback (open), tr55 plugs, and poly motor mounts, no tune yet.

I looked at the specs, nissan curb weight: 3278lbs, 332hp, 270tq, 245 tires
not sure what my car makes now. stock ratings: 3341lbs, 305hp, 335tq, = tires

i think you will lose , but it will be close . also from a roll he has a few more gears to help him out so m but race anyway , and then mod and race again , do gears and a converter and you will pick up a ton.

2 things:

1) The ls1 was under rated and was making ~345hp stock, you should be making 310+ at the wheels with your mods (you need to get a tune)

2) Doubtful he can drive the car flawlessly since he just got it, so he is likely no where near 12s or even low 13s. You should get him by a car or 2 from a roll and from a stop likely more.

If you can drive you'll get him in the quarter. I think that he'd kill you past 100 though, but who starts races from 100.

I'm planning a 3200-3600 stall for my tax return in Spring with new wheels and tires in summer (probably 555r's)

Drag or road course?

You should be able to get him in the 1/4 but if he can realty drive it could be a close race!

Road coarse depending on the layout he will most likely take you.

Drag race lol I have a stock suspension, wouldn't even consider road course. plus the A4 would kill me on a road course track

i wudnt go with less than a 3600 stall if it were me and get rid of them gears damn! lol

I raced one at moroso 2yrs ago and spanked that shit. I was bone stock down to the filter. He ran low 14's all night and I ran a 13.4. I say go for it!
