Default short street bursts, 76mm/17 psi/93 octane

No Idea how much power it makes, but its 17 psi, 14* timing 93 octane. Took it for its last cruise till after my deployment. Its a lot of fun! Wish I had more room to lay into it though.

Basic setup: stock ls1 long block w/arp rod bolts, ls6 intake, 60# injectors, 76mm turbo, th400 rmvb, 3800 stall, 12 bolt, a2w intercooled. Should be in the neighborhood of 700whp.

I can't believe how a single turbo ls sounds compared to a twin turbo ls. Mine sounds like a damn 8 cylinder clacking farm tractor when it comes into boost. Yours is so smooth!

There aren't any roads around there with a higher speed limit?

That turbo sounds like what I have (76mm T4 .96), I usually turn down the boost to 13-14# when on the street with pump gas. Thats not to say I havent ran it wit 93 & higher boost, I accidentally saw 22# one time but it was only for a second lol. These smaller turbos are so much fun on the street!

hate to be the negative guy but isn't 17psi a lot for 93 octane? i have never been able to get anywhere near that level of boost before running into knock.

I have but only by accident & for not very long. I like to play it safe for the most part.

watching that vid made me feel like i just had sex and couldnt finish...
You could have just saved us a minute and a half of our lives and showed the first and last 5 seconds of getting into boost. The rest you are sitting and waiting for the pedal to get hammered to the floor!
On a good note, I guess you dont have any cooling issues being minus a hood.

OP, are your injectors maxed out yet?

That is essentially the first and last drive on the car for 7 months before the OP heads to Afghanistan.

Car has no hood on it and is not registered or insured (So driving it around a main road day before a deployment would be a horrible idea.

I have run up to 18PSI and have no problems with Knock. I also run straight meth and pump 93 though.

Bring it to Piedmont a couple times while he is gone, I'm sure he won't mind if we get it all nice and tuned up, and get it running some 5.90's-5.80's for him to come home to!

I never did get that extra set of keys from you Bill LOL. And yes I do believe that 17 psi is a bit much for straight 93. However, It was really the first drive with it, and I'm running a manual boost controller (class i run in). I set it in the middle and just made that ride around my block. I saw 17 psi via my HP tuners logs, and that was only 4500 ish rpms in 2nd gear, so i know in high gear and more rpms it would be over 20 psi (that is if the turbo would supply that much). Once I get back from my deployment, a whole new setup will be in place. AES forged 5.3/All Pro's/marcella intake and an S475 turbo, as well as either a PT2000 or chiseled perf. A2W riding shotgun. I also plan to run on e85 or e98 if I can get ahold of it. Reguardless look for some more footage in the late summer/fall when i can get back to it and get some real tuning done.
