Seems healthy. Now slap a 150 shot on it and change that rear ! lol. serious though. That's where my 408 is around.

Thanks guys! I know that 10 bolt won't hold lol. It's built for autocross/road course. For now, it will have to do until it goes.

Nice job. It should really pull out of the corners.

Disappointing. There's a problem somewhere. I made those numbers with stock heads and a much smaller cam on 376ci. That cam shouldn't peak so early. I'd expect at least 535-540, esp though a 10 bolt with a t56.

Stock intakes are killing the power on these mills. They all peak early 6200 is about max.

up my 418 levels off at about 6200 and 540 is a bit high for a 408 most I see dyno around 500 even.
it is also about the car setup and the type of car. the GTO I pulled my motor out of put down 505 but in my car it will do about 535 or more. one reason is I hav a lighter than stock flywheel but that is countered with a 9 inch. anything near or at 500 or over is a good build for a 408

I would agree. Look at the 408 sticky...many over 500, but many under as well?
Looking at the graph, I wonder if the intake or some restriction is holding you back. Your curve is flat at the end, seems like it needs a little something to peak at the end.

Hey... he's in the "500 hp" club and that's all that matters (I'd be stoked). I would expect more HP but when I built my '98 Z28 it definitely didn't meet internet dyno number expectations. lol
I'd port the LS3 intake... does it drive similar to stock?

I was not saying the numbers were bad. Those are good numbers, I just think the car has more in it looking at the curve...coaxing it out is the hard part.

The results are good. I had the same first build on my 402ci. ls3/l92 head, ect. I went to the trickflow 235 head wich took my compression from 11.7 to 11.5. I gained 20hp under the curve,10hp on peak and 15 tq from start to finish. I then had mammo port my 102mm and went with a pat g cam and gained 15hp again. The cam pat did was a lil smaller in duration but more lift. just from a out of the box fast and the 235 heads i gained 3 tenths at the track with a worse 60foot. from 1.42 to a 1.54 with tfs heads (slicks were worn bad) my 402ci had 545hp and runs mid 10,s n/a in a car i can daily with power everything still in it. I also have a 12bolt and steel shaft w/4.11's m6 car.

The RWT is actually low below 3500RPM. Not loving that cam but that's just my opinion. 11.5 is on the edge of being too much CR to run enough timing to make better numbers. Again, just my opinion.

Very nice setup, congrats!
? - what size injectors are you running? By chance do you know the duty cycle at that power level?

Nice results but I think that you could have had a better power under the curve with a 243/251 cam

Injectors are stock LS3 42 pounders. And pretty happy with the numbers seeing the fact that the throttle body is only opening up 90%. I'm having issues with the SLP bracket for the throttle body cable. Come summer time I'll swap to a bigger injector and switch over to E-85 and see how she does.
