Default Putting together my 35th LE car to drive around town and X275/ lots of pics

I bought this car in 2001 new. It has 4600 original miles on it. It had a 410CI solid roller N2O motor before and with a dry kit it went 8.47@165. Bought another race car so I put this in the back shed till now. Pulled her out and going to make it my street car/X275 car. Since I already have a X275 car this will be the more driver friendly. I have been working on it for about a week now. Looking to drive it in mid spring. Still need to order converter and send the BS3 back to get updated and add the IQ3 dash. Since I finished the cold side today I can order the Ron Davis radiator tomorrow. Looking to make 1000rwhp on 93 and max the turbo out on race gas.
Motor is getting built right now. LSX 38XCI solid roller with TFS 265 heads and a super victor. Shearer hot side turbo kit.

Here are some pics of me getting started on it.

Very nice!! Do you have to have a factory core support for x275? I know a lot of classes are making that a rule now.

Sears rules says front core support can be modified or removed. My rules here in Texas do not say that either. I can tell you that not having a cores support is not going to make the car go any faster so I don't see the issue.

Got down pipe and cold side pipe finished and welded up

Started working in the back. Made a frame out of square tubing and put a piece of sheet metal on top. The ice box was on my race car and it mounted a different way, so I had to cut the tabs off and make my own mounting tabs.

Got my new K-member in (burkhart chassis narrowed) Doesn't show the down pipe in the pic but it is flush with the bottom of the rack.

Trying to get as much weight out front as I can. LOL Car likes to do wheelies. There is quite a bit more weight out there then when it had N2O on it for sure.

You aren't kidding. I worked at the dealership for many years. They all told me I was crazy for doing this to a 35th but I never cared and still don't.

nice work, but why cut a low mileage anniversary up to do this? why not just get a junk v6 shell to start with?

Just like most of you guys, it is just what I started with. I bought this car new in 2001 off the show room floor. Classic Chevrolet had just 1. I traded my 2000 SS in for it and paid it off 5 years later. It has been through several different combos. I broke all the factory stuff at some point and just upgraded to better stuff. Through the years it has just gotten slowly hacked up. I am now fixing all the hacking and putting a lot of hours of fab work. I bought a Tig and band saw and drill press with jig nitcher, ect, ect. We built a race car for a guy here on Tech and when he needed to get out from under it, I bought it. That is why this Camaro project has taken so long. That is why this is a street car since I already have a race car, even though, I am pretty sure that the street car will be faster then the race car.

It took me years to decide to go past the simple bolt ons for my 35thLE because it was a LE car.... after the 5th gens came out my mentality about it changed to "its just a car".

Nice project man... cant wait to see the final product.

My goal is a 4.99 in the 1/8 mile. It is a Precision turbo x275 88mm.
