Wouldn't recommend that turbo on that size motor if you are planning on pushing it hard. I guess it all depends on your power goals?

It would depend on what you will be doing with the car. For max power you would want the 1.39ar

A 4788 can make 1400+ hp...

What gear and trans and weight in the car?

I would go for something other than 317s for heads if you have the coin.

Hey how do you think that will spool with my set up? ... I thought te same thing and some turbo companies I talked with suggested 1.08.... I thought that would be small and maybe cause to much back pressure

I have a midwest fab 9 with 370 gear... Not sure on weight of car but there will be some gutting... Lol
I also have a th400 trans So I know the cars not gonna set any hp records because of the 9 inch and th400 but looking to get down the track

The 317 is what the budget called for ... Lol well see what they can do they are like the Prc 2.5 317

Street or 1/4 car? For the street I do believe 1.08 will be perfect for fast spool but for max power 1/4 use I agree with Koolrayz.

Not on that size engine.

OP, what kind of power are you trying to make and what do you use the car for?

You keep skipping around the part where you tell us how you want the car to preform...if your looking to go 9.50's or lower put the largest a/r on it. If your ok with running 10's put a smaller housing on it that will spool alittle better.

On that size motor use the biggest exhaust a/r. It will help keep the bp down through that turbine wheel.

I am doing a 410ci gt4788 build. If you are going to be doing more street than track, then I say you will be fine. Here is a thread that was brought to my attention. https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...317-heads.html also call Garrett or Percision up and tell them what you are planning with what you have and they will tell you. In the case of more street than track. The 4788 is just fine and they will not tell you to go bigger. Because of to much lag.

A lot of ppl on here speak when they don't have proper knowledge of what they are talking about. You want a professional answer make sure you are talking to a professional. Or at least to someone that has about the same build that you are looking to do.

tinkerd on here has a done, M6 4788, and I was impressed with it.

408 iron and 317s, pump gas, no meth, 13* IIRC he made 800/800 on 14/15 psi-

race gas and 20 psi, same timing, made 900.

If he adds timing and a bit more boost, itll make 1000 no problem.

Do a search, and it should give you a good idea.

It doesnt seem to light until 3800-4200, so keep that in mind. Its like a smaller 67mm on a supra, takes a bit to get lit, then its full steam.

Thanks! It is going to look a lot different after it is done. Josh@KY-Turbo is taking care of everything. He is installing everything from front to back. All mods and custom turbo headers and piping. Over seeing the paint, of trying to get a match on the color from a picture and tuning/dyno.
