Question: PHB Remounts a good move for 3" single over the axle kits?
The reason I ask that question in the title is that during a pre-weld inspection of my car for my TSP exhaust (welding most everything after the up-n-over on the passenger side - over the axle will be clamped for resonator changeout) we found that there's barely any clearance for the single 3" tube in the first place. I've got less than an inch between the PHB upper bar mount and the bar itself. Possibly the same from the floorboard to the pipe.
Visualize the pipe OD in a 5x5 box. That's what I'm working with.
Looking at the car it occurred to me that a relocator kit for the upper bar could give me room, however I also have an issue with centering my right pipe. That's due to the position of the Right-out pipe and the PHB upper mount.
If I weld, it's no going back and the right out and left out pipes will be tucked in toward the inside of the fascia cutouts on my Trans Am bumper Cover.
Just wondering if doing a relocator for a non true dual kit would be overkill? And if I did would it help in centering the kit? Also any tips for those who've installed TSP rumblers or SLP LM1s on centering the Right-Out pipes on Trans Ams? Could turning the right outlet tube at the slip joint give me the centering I need?
TLDR; Minimal clearance found with my TSP rumbler and right pipe off center. Welding tips and everything after the 'over the axle 3" portion'. Need to know if a upper PHB relocator kit could solve the clearance and centering issues.
