****** fu%@ing exhaust mainfold bolts. Im removing my cats to replace with magnaflows high flow direct fit cats. All the nuts came right off except one on the pass side and of course it broke off leaving about a 1/4" nub. So 2 hours of cursing and drilling Its done. I cant replace the stud so Ill just use a grade 8 bolt and nut.

Bummer man i just had that happen to me on an LS2 i was working on. luckly there was enough of a nub left on the bolt to get it out with Vice Grips (the tool of the gods). cant say enough about using anti seize

Very common in exhausts that have never been pulled apart.

Letting the studs/nuts soak in PB blaster overnight helps.

+100. A lot of people like to use locktite, but a lot of people get bit in the butt by it too.

They soaked for 2 days actually. Its all good now. I wire brushed the threads and sprayed silicone. The new magnaflows went on perfect and sound a lot louder. Magnaflow claims 7 more HP My butt-o-meter couldnt tell but the sound is more deeper and growls. Plus I save $80 over ebay. Paid $325 shipped for 2 cats.
