Default hollow ticking sound at idle, what do you think it is?

ok when my car idles i can hear an idle ticking sound and some when i bring the rpms up a little. i have headers dont know if it could be from this or what. its like a hollow ticking sound thats constant, seems more distint from the driver side but that might just be cause im at the drive through and its commin off the walls. ill try and get a sound clip of it but anyone have any ideas from what im sayin? i was wondering maybe a push rod thats bent could make this noise but i dont knwo what else to look for or listen for

Could it be the infamous piston slap?

yeah but it does it when the car it hot too, doesnt seem as bad but i thought that was only an issue at cold temps, could it still be there at higher temps?

checked that out too. everything is tight, thats what i was thinking too. i can kinda hear it a little in higher rpms at as a different tone of ticking. i figure just the air in the headers, push rods, or like said maybe piston slap. but i did rule out exhaust leak one of the first things i did. that was a good idea haha

I seem to have this same sound after installing my Hookers w/ORP.Seems to be coming from the collector area of the headers.I can really here it when I "lug" the car in a higher gear.

ok so i guess its just something for the air flow in the headers maybe. if it was a push rod how could i tell? i missed a gear one time thats whyim kinda curious about it
