Hello All, Input Please
Hi, my name is matt and this is my 2000 camaro ss with a six speed trans.
Anywhooo... I am looking into getting a symetrical camshaft from Thunder Racing, most likely a 224/224 with a 112 lsa. I see some great things being said about the cam quality and the kits they have posted on their website.
Basically I'm looking for input from members here as for the following:
- Anyone that can speak on having installed this cam (pros / cons)
- Where could I get a good crankshaft pulley removal tool, as not to use the shi**y method that can damage the crank threads (the method on LS1 how to)
- Should I change out the valve springs while I'm in there
- Do lifters have to be changed? I've heard mixed reviews...
- Tuning going to be an issue or would the stock ecu be able to adjust (maybe drill out the throttle body flapper? scary?)
Also I plan on changing pushrods, retainers, etc.. MAYBE changing the oil pump and water pump while its apart as well.
Thanks in advance
Matt
